THE STORY

Toward the end of the Great Elven Wars the battle turned in the favor of the Forest Elves. The Dark Elven Armies were on the brink of defeat. Fanterok, god of the Dark Arts, saw the end coming near for his brother Kalamon's beloved creation and could not bear to see them lose. Fanterok stood upon the battlefield to cast a spell to annihilate the Forest Elves, but something went very wrong. Fanterok's spell did not kill only the Forest Elves, but instead wiped all the Elves from the land. The Council of the gods was outraged that Fanterok would cast such magic upon the mortal land. They decided Fanterok must be punished for his deeds. After much discussion, there was only one punishment severe enough to make restitution for what he had done. Fanterok would be banished to the Void and forbidden to practice the Dark Arts forever. A threshold was placed in the Void, as a means to be sure that Fanterok would not be able to harm the mortals once again. This allowed communication for brief amounts of time between the mortal realm and the Void. Their plan was to check up on him, but it backfired. In the Void, where all banished souls are sent, Fanterok changed his name to Teradan, the Void King, and he seized control over the minions of the Void. Over many years, Teradan formulated a plot to return to the world of mortal men. He developed a spell to open and close the way into the Void, but it had to be cast from outside the Void.

Teradan used the threshold to appear in visions within the dreams of Lord Morlock, a high wizard. Each night he would send the vision of a spell. Each morning, Morlock would wake up, carve this spell into a tablet and store it away in his Keep Basement. After many years he finally finished the book, naming it "Fanterok's Katerok". Morlock had a feeling there was a secret code imbedded into these spells but could never figure out what it was. As the seasons passed, Morlock become weak so he took on an apprentice, Lord Kalador, in hopes of passing on the book to find the secret within. Upon the passing of Morlock, Lord Kalador studied the tablets. He knew his master suspected they contained a secret power, but did not know in which order to cast the spells. Daily, Lord Kalador awoke, went into the Keep Basement and began casting the spells in a different order. He eventually discovered the proper order, causing a rift in space to appear. Teradan came through the rift to seek out his revenge upon the world and its gods. His revenge began by burying the secret order of the tablets. He sacrificed Lord Kalador as a dark ritual to shatter the tablets into pieces.

Next, he dispersed the pieces all over the lands to ensure that the rift could never be closed again. Teradan created other rifts throughout the countryside to reinforce his Army, but the other gods quickly discovered them. They attempted to combat his Dark Arts with their own powers... succeeding only to an extent. By disrupting the magic, the other gods were able to create instability in the portals Teradan had created. Due to their instability, they can only remain open for short periods. It's time for the Races to unite to defend their mystical land. Embark on the journey of a lifetime as you set out to recover the lost tablets and discover their secret order to purge the land of the Void King and his evil minions. To once again make this land a FreeWorld!
